Several Union is an Italian rock band from Cesena. Formed in 2005 by young Alessandro Montalti (vocals) and Giacomo Domeniconi (guitars) who were both studying engineering & technology at the University of Bologna (and are both graduates with honor now), Several Union have released two albums to date: “A Look in the mirror” with British independent label Copro Records in 2008 and “Awake from the Game” with Rude Networks, (2011 distribution in Italy and 2012 for the rest of Europe).
Both albums were recorded at Studio 73 in Ravenna by famous Italian producer Riccardo Pasini (Extrema, Slowmotion Apocalypse).
Awake from the Game was also mastered in New York at Sterling Sound Studio by Ted Jensen (Bullet for my Valentine, Muse, Linkin Park) and has received, so far, the praise from international music press (Metal Hammer, Rock Hard, Metal Maniac, Metal.de, Zwaremetalen, to name a few).
On the album is also featured national famous singer Olly Riva (Shandon, The Fire, Goodfellas) who duets with Alessandro “Ashdale” Montalti on the track “The Game”. A video of this highly catchy tune was shot at a historical location in Montecchio (Vicenza) and is visible at this link.
Other guest artist on the album is Andrea Rock from Andead, who performed with Ashdale a screamo version of Aerosmith classic “Dream on”.
In summer 2012, Several Union decide to develop the nu rock, highly melodic tracks contained on Awake from the Game into new sonic shapes by calling some Italian artists from very diverse musical backgrounds, such as Alessio Nero Argento, Take Me Out, Fuoco sul Beat, Paolo Pellegrino, Massimo Sabbadin (rock DJ and owner of the rock fashion brand Bad Spirit, often chosen by artists of the caliber of Metallica and Lacuna Coil), Becko of ‘Hopes Die Last’ : “Remix from the Game” is released digitally through DMB Music and contains very different versions of the songs contained on the original album (dubstep, rap, lounge, house). Before its second release through Ammonia Records, with the collaboration of dubstep radio host of Bass Island, there are two videos shot from this remix album: the harsh and cool “Tonight you’re mine” with D-Vines drummer+dj project Take me Out (http://youtu.be/jruydus0jlk) and a very peculiar surrealist video for the Italian rap version of Erase the sorrow by Fuoco sul Beat (http://youtu.be/kWTwU2TUQoM)
Several Union put out a powerful and very cinematic electric live show, as often demonstrated in their one night shows and tours within and outside the country and Ashdale’s versatile voice works beautifully also in acoustic sessions, which the band plays often both on stage and at radio shows (Fall and fade – Radio Lombardia 2011 (http://youtu.be/IGaFAIdQyIU).
After a months long break during which Ashdale has subdue a delicate operation to improve his vocal performances even further, Several Union enhanced its live activity, played tons of shows and sharing the stage with bands such as Architects, A Day To Remember, Silverstein and many more; in particular, in november 2013 the band had the opportunity of touring Est Europe supporting american rockers Blue October during 3 amazing shows.
Back in Italy, the band started the production of their new full-length album, which is planned for half 2014.
